How do I find the Unique ID Number+ or MAC address for my 8000-series oscilloscope?

Question :

How do I find the Unique ID Number+ or MAC address for my 8000-series oscilloscope?

Réponses :

To access this information the Ethernet/ LAN port must be enabled. If the Ethernet/ LAN port is not enabled, please refer to FAQ #1123. This FAQ has the procedure for enabling the Ethernet/ LAN.

For the DSA8200, and 8000-series oscilloscopes with XP:

  • Select Utilities
  • Select System Properties
  • The Unique ID number is under the Mainframe tab.

For 8000-series oscilloscopes with Win2K:

For products with SW version 2.4.0.5 (and with the Ethernet/ LAN port enabled), the unique ID number can be accessed using the following procedure:

  • Select Utility
  • Select Option Installation
  • Select Continue
  • The Unique ID number will be listed if the Ethernet/ LAN port is enabled.

For 8000-series oscilloscopes with Win2K with SW version below 2.4.0.5:

Once the Ethernet/ LAN port is enabled, the procedure to access the Unique ID number, or MAC address, is below:

  • Connect keyboard and mouse to the scope
  • If not already on, power up the oscilloscope
  • Minimize the oscilloscope application.
  • Select Windows “START” button in the bottom left hand corner of the display
  • Select “ RUN ” from drop down menu
  • Type “cmd” and select enter
  • Type “ipconfig /all” and select enter
  • Record the PHYSICAL ADDRESS: 00-00-XX-XX-XX-XX; this is the Unique Id.
  • Right click on tool bar at the top of the “C:\\WINN\System32\cmd.exe” window and select “close” from the drop down menu.

For CSA / TDS 8000 and CSA / TDS 8000B products with Win 98

Once the Ethernet/ LAN port is enabled, the procedure to access the Unique ID number, or MAC address, is below:

  • Connect USB keyboard and mouse to the scope

  • Minimize the oscilloscope application.
  • Select Windows “START” button in the bottom left hand corner of the display
